| SimDex to offer eTopUp possibility - 2003-06-07 |
SimDex now offers its customers both e-voucher and e-TopUp method to refill or reload mobile telephones and other prepaid services.
E-voucher
E-voucher method was part of SimDex version 2.0 delivery. E-vouchers are based on PIN numbers being printed on the customer receipt at the terminal. Telcos or other service providers that use this method have direct access to SimDex PrePay host to deliver PINs electronically. The SimDex host then delivers those PINs securely to the terminal when requested by the terminal. A receipt (e-voucher) is then printed out and contains the necessary information for the end customer to activate the mobile phone.
E-TopUp method (ETU).
In the new SimDex PrePay version 2.5 e-TopUp method is available. The new e-TopUp method allows EFT Pos or EPOS terminals to sell products from Telco’s where Telcos will directly activate or reload the mobile phone with prepaid airtime. With e-voucher the end customer must activate the phone by dialing in the PIN number, but with e-TopUp the Telco will activate the mobile phone automatically.
In addition to distribution through traditional retailers the E-TopUp method opens up the opportunity for self-service where users can buy mobile airtime through mobile phones, Internet, ATMs or Kiosks.

| New and unique feature - PIN stock Management. - 2003-01-08 |
The SimDex PrePay (SPP) software now offers flexible stock management via three levels of stocks:
a) Host server stock,
b) Transit stock and
c) Terminal stock.
By offering these different levels of stocks, SimDex PrePay software can fulfill the needs of various business models.
The Host Server stock enables each Telco to manage its own PIN stock located in the SPP host and control distribution of PIN vouchers to retailers. Each time a retailer sells mobile airtime the terminal (eft terminal or cash register) will call in to retrieve PIN from the Host server stock.
The Transit stock can be used when a retail chain decides to buy prepaid airtime in bulks from Telco. The Telco will then allocate the PINs into a Transit stock specially assigned to that retailer. The Transit stock further allows for instance Prepaid Card Distributors (PPD) to buy prepaid cards electronically in bulks from Telcos and sell to retailers at their own risk.
When PINs have been allocated to a retail chain´s Transit stock, the Transit stock will be their “warehouse of digital goods” to be sold through eft terminals or cash registers. Large retail chains most often have their own centralized warehouse and the SimDex Transit stock feature will serve the same purpose but with digital content replacing physical products.
Alos, each store under the retail chain can have predefined high and low level of stock in the terminals (Terminal stock) depending on their sales and preferences. The store will be alerted when stock approaches the lower level so that it doesn’t run out of PIN stock. The store manager can also allocate PINs between terminals if some terminals are approaching minimum level, without buying new stock from the Transit stock.
Terminal stocks can also, if the store manager whishes, be automatically updated when the defined low level is reached or during off-business hours to the predefined high level. The PINs are encrypted and only decrypted as they are printed.
